Medication Dispensing Technology

The technology that I am using for my final research project is robotic dispensing of medication in pharmacies. I specifically would like to relate it to Ihde's hermeneutic and/ or embodiment relationships. I think this could be classified as both types, but I am curious to see all of your opinions.
I also want to see how this technology has changed the way pharmacy students' education. I am curious to see how much time in class, if any, is spent on learning this technology and what the learning curve is like. It may be difficult to use at first, making it more hermeneutic. However, after learning the technology and working with it for a long time, it may become more of an embodiment relationship for the pharmacist.

  1. I can see how the robot could qualify as both hermeneutic and embodiment. From my perspective, it seems to be more hermeneutic because I have never actually use one before. For me, my relationship with this technology would be at the level of learning its use. However, your perspective strikes my as already having an embodiment view (even if you have not actually learned how to use it) because you are already looking at the potential applications for its use int eh pharmacy. So, I think that they way you approach a piece of equipment probably has a lot to do with it too.
